Alan Shearer Selects His Premier League Team Of 2017

The all-time Premier League top goalscorer Alan Shearer has revealed his team of the calendar year.

As 2017 draws to a close, we look back on the second half of the 2016/17 season along with the first half of the 2017/18 season when assessing what went down in the Premier League over the past twelve months.

Chelsea comfortably took the title last season while Manchester City look set to romp home to their third championship win since the beginning of the Premier League era, therefore there should be little surprise to see plenty of representation from those two sides in Shearer’s XI.

Manchester United, who have shown their best form since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement under Jose Mourinho, along with Tottenham Hotspur, who have blossomed under the management of Mauricio Pochettino, make up the Match Of The Day pundit’s choice.

Writing for his Coral blog, Shearer reflected on what the Premier League had to offer us in 2017.

He also chose the manager who has impressed him most throughout the year.
