The SSE Airtricity League begins in anger once again this weekend with a full card of Premier Division ties.

With the 20-team system now evenly divided between the two tiers, the Premier Division teams are going to be seeing an awful lot more of each other this season.

Cork City will be looking to defend their crown, Dundalk on a mission to get it back, while newly-promoted Waterford aren’t just there to make up the numbers.

Ahead of what looks set to be one the most hotly-contested Premier Division seasons (at both ends) in years, our writers ran the rule over all ten top division clubs and determined the strengths, weakness, signings and difference-makers within their squads, as well as assessing their ambitions for the campaign ahead.
