Agent Reveals Fascinating Insight Into Paul Pogba’s Manchester United Return

For weeks, it felt like the transfer saga of the summer would never end but eventually, Paul Pogba did complete his return to Manchester United for a record-breaking fee.

Today, Mino Raiola, Pogba’s infamous agent has opened up on the deal, delivering some fascinating details from the Frenchman’s storied return.

Speaking to Téléfoot, as quoted by GFFN, the Italian revealed:

“During the Euros, we never spoke about deals. He was disappointed to lose the final of the Euros, he told us what he wanted afterwards, I made him aware of what was going on in Miami.”

One of the most interesting revelations surrounded Jose Mourinho’s history with the player.

“Mourinho already wanted him last summer but it was not the right moment. Zidane also wanted him, I think, like 5 or 6 other clubs. For me Manchester United are better, because they have my player. Real Madrid do not.”

Had Roman Abramovich been willing to cough up the money, could we have seen the starlet in a Chelsea shirt last season or did Pogba have his heart set on staying in Turin?

Is this the first time a player has picked an English club over one of the Spanish giants in the past decade? If so, it certainly represents a massive coup for the Reds.

It would appear though that Manchester was his preferred destination all along:

“He clearly told me what he wanted. For Paul, Manchester has always been his home.”

The twenty-three-year-old has made a fine start to his second stint in a United shirt, dominating in his debut against Southampton. While a physical Hull midfield stifled his creative influence at times, he looked the most likely to break the deadlock before the arrival of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Rashford.
