Adam Lallana is a wanted man, with Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham keeping tabs on the England star. However, he appears to have pledged his immediate future to Liverpool by agreeing to sign a new contract.

The Express is reporting that Lallana has agreed to sign a bumper new four-year deal worth £120,000 a week.

Jurgen Klopp has played Lallana in a more central role this season and the move has paid off. The midfielder is enjoying one of his best ever seasons, with seven goals and seven assists in 20 league starts.

That form has led to rumours of a big-money summer move for the 28-year-old. PSG Director of Football Patrick Kluivert had shown an interest and Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was keen on a reunion, after managing Lallana at Southampton.

Those rumours can be put to bed now, with Lallana agreeing to a double-your-money deal to keep him at the club until the end of the 2020/21 season. This now makes him one of the highest-paid players at Liverpool, with only Philippe Coutinho earning more.

It is a move that will please fans, who may be a little disillusioned with their team’s recent form. Their Premier League title challenge has floundered this month, with them currently in fourth. They have also been knocked out of both domestic cup competitions in the past week.

However, Lallana agreeing to a new deal is a positive step and shows Klopp is determined to keep his best players at the club and build a team capable of winning trophies.
