AC Milan Could Make Deadline Day Swoop For Jack Wilshere [Report]

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is almost certainly on his way out of the Emirates today. The only questions remaining are, where? And for how long?

News broke this week that Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger was willing to let the 24-year-old depart the club on loan in order to get some much needed game time as he returns from injury, yet again.

With initial interest from La Liga side Valencia and Serie A side Roma, Premier League involvement from Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and West Brom soon followed. In all, some 22 different expressions of interest were made for England international.

Now, just when it appeared that Crystal Palace were set to land the midfielder on a season-long loan move, it is being reported by the Mirror that Serie A side AC Milan could be about to make a last-minute play for the star, with a £30 million offer to sign Wilshere on a permanent contract should a loan spell be successful.

It is not known what Wenger’s long-term intentions are for Wilshere and whether he would be willing to sell the homegrown academy graduate. However, with a midfield roster stuffed with quality and only four, perhaps five, positions available, it might not be too surprising if the veteran manager decides to cash in on the oft injured player.

With a little over twelve hours to go before the transfer window closes, anything can still happen so watch this space.
