A Manchester United Outcast Has Asked To Leave The Club [Report]

Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has asked to leave the club amidst interest from West Brom and Everton, according to reports.

The French international joined the Red Devils from Southampton in July 2015 for a fee in excess of £24 million, but after impressing to begin with at Old Trafford, Schneiderlin has largely fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho.

West Brom manager Tony Pulis confirmed to media earlier this week that the wheels had been set in motion to bring Schneiderlin to the Hawthorns.

“I don’t want to say any more other than confirm our bid (for Schneiderlin). We have to be fair to Manchester United and the player,” Pulis said on Friday morning.

“We have made bids for about five players. Doing business with people should be done directly with them.

“We aren’t going to try and do everything in one window. It might take a couple of windows to get the quality in that we want.

“All transfer windows are important. This is the most important one though because it’s about to happen.”

Sky Sports reported that the Baggies’ offer is around the £18 million mark, and is probably one that the hierachy at United would be willing to accept considering the fact that Schneiderlin has made just eight appearances during 2016/17 campaign.

Mourinho disclosed to reporters today that he would not stay in the way of the 27-year-old , who has asked to leave United.

“He is a great professional, a fantastic boy, very honest and open,” Mourinho said. “He opened his heart to me a couple of times and my answer is simple.

“If he was playing regularly with me, I have the right to say no way. But if he is not playing, I have no right to say you are going nowhere.

“My answer was that, if the offer is right and the board thinks it’s a good offer in relation to quality of a very good player like Morgan, I wouldn’t stop him going.”

With Schneiderlin set to depart, could Mourinho make a move for another midfielder, or will Bastian Schweinsteiger be presented with an opportunity to impress?
