Although Arsenal fans maybe fretting over the futures of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, speculation linking the Gunners with a move for Julian Draxler continues to gather pace.
We know what you’re thinking and we all realise that Draxler has been connected with Arsenal during every transfer window over the last few years, but this has a different feel to it.
The German international has reportedly fallen out with Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs, and according to Bild (via Talksport), Draxler has been dropped for their tie with Bayern Munich.
Furthermore, Draxler has reportedly been told that he will never play for Wolfsburg again, raising the prospect of the 23 year-old leaving Die Wölfe next month.
Of course Arsenal fans have been here before, as Draxler appeared to be on the verge of joining the club on a number of occasions. Indeed, with Juventus also said to be interested in the attacker, this is by no means a done deal.
Although it remains purely coincidental, with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil yet to sign new deals, any move for Draxler could signal the departure of either key player.
