Multiple Reports Claim 21-Year-Old Japanese Striker Is About To Join Arsenal

Well, this probably isn’t exactly the striker news Arsenal fans will want to be hearing but it seems pretty legit nonetheless.

According to breaking reports in Japan on Wednesday afternoon, Arsenal have made an official approach for 21-year-old Sanfrecce Hiroshima forward, Takuma Asano.

Having already made his debut for the Japanese national team, at such a young age, Asano is viewed as a top quality prospect for the future.

Reportedly available for a fee of just £2.2m, given Arsene Wenger’s obsession with youth, quality and ‘value’ in the market, this has an Arsenal signing written all over it.

The news comes from Japanese outlet Sanyo News who state that the player himself has informed the board at Sanfrecce Hiroshima of Arsenal’s interest and his intention to join the club.

Check out some of the best Tweets (both informative and reactive) to the news that Asano may be on his way to the Emirates below;
