Arsenal took on Everton on Sunday afternoon with the game turning out to be a magnificent advertisement for the Premier League…
Although Arsenal completely dominated the early exchanges, it was Everton who took the lead after Wayne Rooney pinged a sensational effort into the top corner in the 12th minute.
However, rather than let their heads drop, Arsenal rallied and Nacho Monreal pulled his side level just before half time with a fine finish after an initial effort from Granit Xhaka was saved.
The two sides traded blows early in the second half but it was Arsenal’s class that shone through in the 53rd minute after a classic Gunners move was finished off by Mesut Ozil.
Alexandre Lacazette and Aaron Ramsey played a nice one-two on the wing before the French forward offloaded the ball too Alexis Sanchez.
From there, a nice dummy run gave the Chilean the space to send a perfectly timed cross into the box for the arriving Ozil to finish off.
In the 68th minute, things went from bad to worse for Everton as Idrissa Gueye received his marching orders for a second bookable offense.
Chants of ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ were sang in the direction of Ronald Koeman in the closing stages of the game as, at the time of writing, Arsenal were 3-1 up after another slick move was finished off by Alexandre Lacazette.
