Irish players have really been banging them in across England’s top divisions this weekend, with Aiden McGeady, Daryl Horgan, Shane Long, Wes Holohan and Robbie Brady all scoring for their respective clubs.
And these weren’t just any goals either, they were an array of absolute stunners.
If you missed any of these strikes, you can check them out in a Simon O’Keefe article from earlier this evening and vote for your favourite.
However, focusing on Irish players performing in England, the erudite Mr. O’Keefe left out a worthy contender for Irish goal of the weekend from a young man on international duty over in La Manga, Murcia, Spain.
Ireland’s Under-19’s are currently taking part in a friendly tournament in the Mediterranean seaside town and today they recorded an impressive 1-0 win over Portugal thanks to the aforementioned wonder-strike from the right boot of young Ronan Hale.
Irish fans unfamiliar with Hale will be pleased to know that finding the net is something the 18-year-old Hale is more than a little accustom to, as he bagged a remarkable 29 goals for the Birmingham City Under-18’s last season(via The Irish News).
He did, however, seem particularly chuffed with this one.
What a result from the lads, beat Portugal 1-0 and the passion from the lads was unreal! Also buzzin to bang in the winner!!🇮🇪🍀#COYBIG
