Liverpool forward Sadio Mane would welcome the addition of Lyon’s Nabil Fekir, were the reported deal come to fruition.

Strong reports from France on Sunday suggested that the Reds have agreed a deal in the region of €70m for the attacker – reports that have not yet been outwardly denied by the usual Liverpool sources.

Speaking to SFR Sport, Mane claims that Fekir would ‘enjoy himself’ at Anfield, and seemed very enthusiastic about the prospect of the 24-year-old being added to Jurgen Klopp’s already potent arsenal in the summer.

“Nabil is a really great player. If it is the case, we’ll be really very happy to have him with us. I think he will do great things with us. He’s going to enjoy himself here.

“You always need that kind of player. If we get him, it’s going to be fire.”

RMC went all in on Sunday with reports claiming that Fekir will join Liverpool at the end of the season on a five-year deal, in a move that would also see his brother Yassin move to the Premier League side as part of the transfer.

Predominantly at home in a number ten role, Fekir has shone in Ligue 1 this season. The French international has scored 17 league goals this year and has been instrumental in the side’s push for a Champions League place.

With the midfield options looking a bit thin in the wake of Emre Can’s likely departure and Adam Lallana’s fitness issues, even with the arrival of Naby Keita in the summer Jurgen Klopp will still be looking for more options – particularly in the attacking creative void left by Phlippe Coutinho’s Janaury move to Barcelona.

He would also be able to operate along the front three, which the last few weeks have shown could also do with adding a little depth.
