Ireland’s Festy Ebosele Sent Off As Czech Defender Makes Meal Of ‘Challenge’

Festy Ebosele was sent off in controversial circumstances at the end of the Republic of Ireland’s dramatic 1-1 draw with the Czech Republic in the U17 European Championships.

Ebosele received a second yellow card in stoppage time and the youngster was clearly furious with the decision as he stormed off the pitch and down the tunnel.

The referee was all too quick to dish out the second yellow card as replays suggest there was minimal contact with Ebosele and the Czech defender.

Ebsole’s opponent threw himself to the ground in dramatic fashion which only caused further frustration to those in attendance.

Ireland found themselves 1-0 down midway through the second-half only but an equaliser from Andrew Omobamidele in the 88th minute secured a 1-1 draw.

Ireland will now take on Belgium on Thursday which will prove pivotal in their chances of progressing to the knockout stages.
