Cyrus Christie’s brief stay at Middlesbrough has come to an end with confirmation late last night that he has signed a three and a half year deal with another Championship club.
Christie, since leaving Derby County for the Teesiders last summer, made 26 appearances for the north-east outfit but has now secured a move to Craven Cottage where he will be lining out for Fulham.
The fee is undisclosed and it is also subject to deadline day clearance but the 25-year-old’s arrival certainly excites Fulham’s Director of Football, Tony Khan.
“I am very excited to welcome Cyrus into the Fulham family on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
“He is a fantastic young player who brings both an international pedigree and a wealth of Championship experience with him. I can’t wait for him to join us and help the squad continue to push for promotion.”
Fulham currently lies in 6th place in the EFL Championship and are just six points off an automatic promotion spot. They are three points ahead of his now former club, Middlesbrough and it will be interesting to see whether the West London side secure promotion to the Premier League come the end of the season.
To help achieve this, they have also bolstered their attacking options with the news that they have secured Newcastle United and Serbian striker, Alexander Mitrovic on loan until the end of the season.
