Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have chosen their respective Premier League teams of the decade.
With 2019 coming to a close, expect to see many teams of the decade across numerous sports and leagues which always provide plenty of lively debate.
Last night’s edition of Monday Night Football, which saw Conor Hourihane play a crucial role in helping Aston Villa to a 2-0 victory over Newcastle, provided the platform for Carragher and Neville to choose their best XI of the last 10 years.
Both pundits chose the same back four and goalkeeper with David De Gea between the sticks and Pablo Zabaleta, Vincent Kompany, Virgil Van Dijk and Cesar Azpilicueta forming the back four.
In a midfield trio, Carragher and Neville both opted for Yaya Toure and David Silva but to mix things up a bit, Carragher went for N’Golo Kante to finish his midfield while Neville chose winger Eden Hazard to play in midfield – a decision that left his colleague dumbfounded.
Upfront, unsurprisingly, Sergio Aguero made it into both of the pundits’ front-three. Carragher complemented Aguero with Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard while Neville picked Harry Kane and Luis Suarez to partner Aguero.
