A similar player to Keane in some ways…
Robbie Keane has heaped praise on Arsenal target and Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, as he continued an excellent run of form against Leeds.
Jesus was revealed to be a target of Arsenal’s a few weeks ago, and his performances since have been nothing short of phenomenal.
He scored four in one game against Watford, before grabbing a crucial goal against Real Madrid in a Champions League semi-final, and then another against Leeds on Sunday.
Micah Richards and Keane were full of praise for the Brazilian, who has been one of City’s best performers in 2022.
Robbie Keane on Gabriel Jesus
Keane went as far as to say that Jesus is the only player in City’s incredible squad who has the “killer instinct” needed to be a top striker.
He said: “He’s the only one in the team that has that. When you’re playing with players like (Phil) Foden and (Kevin) De Bruyne, that can set you up, you’re getting four or five chances a game, someone like him takes them. He’s really stepped up.
“It’s good now that he’s getting credit. He’s been a utility player. At the business end of the season is where you want to have your best games and now, he’s showing everyone what he can do.”
Gabriel Jesus linked with Arsenal
If Jesus is to make the move to London, he won’t come cheap, and Mikel Arteta will know that better than anyone, having worked with Pep Guardiola for years at Man City.
Arsenal do need a striker, with Alexander Lacazette now extremely likely to leave the club. Perhaps Jesus could be the man to be at the center of Arsenal’s European run, with the Gunners now in pole position to finish in the top four.
