What a piece of business this would be.
Bayern Munich are said to be growing more and more “confident” of buying Sadio Mane from Liverpool for a very reasonable price this summer.
Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic met the 30-year-old’s agent back a few weeks ago, with initial reports suggesting that all parties are interested in making the move happen.
There has been no direct communication between the club and the player, though French publication L’Equipe have said that it is inching closer.
The report goes as far as saying that the fee being rumoured for Mane is €30 million, which would be a ludicrous amount for such a talented footballer.
Liverpool will be acutely aware of the fact that Mane only has one more season left on his contract, and that if he were to stay around this summer, he could leave for free 12 months later.

In a recent interview, Mane himself worried Liverpool fans by saying that he will be revealing whether he is leaving or staying after the Champions League final.
Many speculated that he would not feel the need to have made those comments if he was staying, though it’s also possible something was lost in translation in the interview.
However, Bayern legend Thomas Muller poured water on the rumours, insisting that he doesn’t buy into aa lot of transfer links.
He said: “If every rumoured player joined us, we would have ended up with a 45-man squad every year. I’m going to show up in Säbener Straße [Bayern’s training ground] at the beginning of July and see who else is there.”
If Liverpool win the Champions League, it would be a great note for Mane to go out on, having played a crucial role in an incredible season.
