He has the last laugh once again…

Jamie Carragher has proven Gary Neville wrong with a tweet posted at half-time in the Villarreal vs Liverpool match.

At half-time, it looked as though Liverpool were in real trouble, with Unai Emery’s side 2-0 up over Jurgen Klopp’s men.

This made the game 2-2 on aggregate, and the Spanish side had absolutely all of the momentum going into the last 45 minutes.

Carragher, clearly feeling a bit worried by what was a terrible performance from his side, took to Twitter to offer Klopp some advice.

He urged Liverpool to bring on Luis Diaz and Jordan Henderson, and Klopp listened, bringing the former on for the second-half.

Neville was enjoying Carragher’s fear, and responded to his tweet with a sarcastic comment: “Good call Gaffer”.

Neville had been enjoying a few glasses of red wine while Liverpool were losing, but his fun ended about 10 minutes into the second-half, thanks to a Fabinho goal.

Carragher made sure to have the last word after the game too…

It was Diaz that changed the game though, bringing the energy and tenacity that he has done all season, since being signed in January.

He scored the second of the day, but it was his overall play that really impressed, and has been the case a lot this season, Carragher got the last laugh over Neville.

Speaking after the game, Peter Crouch agreed that it was Diaz’ introduction that changed the state of the match for Klopp’s men.

“He changed the game. He was fantastic. From the moment he came on he was getting at players. He’s a complete game-changer!”

Liverpool now find themselves with a Champions League final and FA Cup final to look forward to, with the potential of a quadruple still alive.
