Cristiano Ronaldo “leaves training early” with thigh injury

Bad news for Man United fans…

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly gone home from a training session earlier than the rest of his teammates, with a suspected thigh injury.

Ronaldo missed Monday night’s FA Cup game against Aston Villa with a hip injury, and this latest knock is said to be unrelated.

The Sun has reported that Ronaldo is now a doubt for Manchester United’s game against Villa on Saturday evening.

The article states that he was looked at by United’s medical specialists before driving home where he will “make use of his own private oxygen chamber he has had put in his house”.

Ronaldo was missed during United’s 1-0 win over Villa on Monday night, as Edinson Cavani failed to have any real impact on the game.

If he is missing from Saturday evening’s Premier League game, it could give Ralf Rangnick a chance to try out yet another new formation, potentially going with Mason Greenwood up front.

Greenwood started the season as United’s striker, and he was enjoying an excellent run of form, until Ronaldo joined and took his position.

However, we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Ronaldo start for United on Saturday, as he has proven a number of times throughout his career that his body is not comparable to the average footballer.

He will be eager to play in the league game, especially after the reaction to a recent interview he did with Sky Sports.

Ronaldo made it clear that he has intentions of finishing in the top three in the Premier League, and that he won’t settle for anything less.

United currently find themselves six points off West Ham in fourth place, though Rangnick’s side do have two games in hands.

Either way, they cannot afford to drop many more points, and Villa Park is going to be a tough place to go to on Saturday.
