Dundalk & Shamrock Rovers Dominate PFAI Team Of The Year

Five Dundalk players have been named in the PFAI Team of the Year.

The League of Ireland Premier Division champions make up the majority of the team, which is voted for by their fellow players. There are four Shamrock Rovers in the side.

Sean Gannon, Chris Shields, Patrick Hoban, Sean Hoare and Michael Duffy are the Dundalk players in the selection. From Shamrock Rovers, Jack Byrne, Alan Mannus, Lee Grace and Sean Kavanagh have been included.

Here is the team in full, in a 4-3-3 formation.

Alan Mannus (Shamrock Rovers); Sean Gannon (Dundalk), Sean Hoare (Dundalk), Lee Grace (Shamrock Rovers), Sean Kavanagh (Shamrock Rovers); Danny Mandroiu (Bohemians), Chris Shields (Dundalk), Jack Byrne (Shamrock Rovers); David Parkhouse (Derry City), Patrick Hoban (Dundalk), Michael Duffy (Dundalk).

The PFAI Player of the Year shortlist has also been announced. Duffy and Gannon of Dundalk have been nominated alongside Shamrock Rovers and Ireland midfielder Byrne.

In the young player category, Mandroiu, Parkhouse and Byrne have been nominated. The team and award nominations were announced on LOI Weekly.
