The broadcast deal starts next season.
LiveScore has won the rights to broadcast the Champions League in Ireland for the next three years. From the start of the 2021/22 season until the end of the 2023/24 campaign, the popular app will stream every game from Europe’s top club competition to viewers in Ireland for free.

LiveScore will broadcast 137 Champions League matches in Ireland next season, with 104 of those to be shown exclusively on the app. Irish viewers will be able to watch the games on their smartphone or tablet via the LiveScore app, or they can cast to their television screens.
LiveScore has seemingly acquired Virgin Media’s coverage. The broadcaster had the rights to broadcast the competition in Ireland but withdrew from the latest round of bidding after an increase in the price for the rights.
RTÉ retained their rights to 16 matches on Tuesday nights and added the rights to broadcast the final and a highlights show after Tuesday matches.

LiveScore, which established itself as a provider of latest scores from matches throughout the world, has moved into broadcasting in recent years.
Last season, they broadcast Serie A games and matches from the Dutch Eredivisie.
And next season they will show 306 Serie A games, 102 Primeira Liga matches from Portugal and 142 games from the Eredivisie.
In a statement, Ric Leask, LiveScore’s marketing director, said: “We are extremely excited to announce this significant new rights deal, which will provide fully free-to-air live coverage of every single UEFA Champions League match to football fans in Ireland.
“We look forward to being there for every step of the season, as we bring our users closer to the action with our full offering of live-streamed matches and supporting content.”
While Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA’s marketing director, said: “UEFA is delighted to welcome LiveScore as the new broadcaster of UEFA Champions League rights in the Republic of Ireland.
“We are excited to see the innovative coverage it will deliver and to bring comprehensive coverage of the best of European club football to Irish fans for free.”
Details about the Irish Europa League TV rights have yet to be announced.
