The Republic of Ireland have named their team to play against Switzerland.
Mick McCarthy has made three changes to the side that played out a 0-0 draw with Georgia on Saturday. Enda Stevens, who was suspended for the match in Tbilisi, comes into the team to replace Matt Doherty at left-back, while Brighton striker Aaron Connolly starts his first game for the Boys in Green.
In midfield, McCarthy opts for Alan Browne ahead of Conor Hourihane while James McClean retains his place on the left ,Jeff Hendrick appears to be starting on the right at the expense of Callum Robinson and James Collins starts upfront.
Here is the team in full:
Ireland are in Geneva to play the top seeds in Group D. If McCarthy’s team win the game, they will qualify for Euro 2020. However, even if they lose, they will have another chance to qualify next month when they face Denmark in Dublin.
And, if they do not qualify through the group, they could still have an opportunity to reach the tournament through the Nations League play-offs next spring.
But, no matter what route they take to the finals, Ireland will need to greatly improve their performances, starting with Switzerland on Tuesday night.
