QPR’s Charlie Austin Has Given A Firm Indication He Is Staying Put

It is probably easier to count the clubs QPR striker Charlie Austin hasn’t been linked with in this window to gain an accurate picture of just how sought after the striker apparently is.

Tottenham, Newcastle, Everton, Bournemouth, Manchester United and Chelsea are all names that have done the rounds at one stage or another, while the Independent report today that the QPR striker has turned down a move to Crystal Palace.

Austin has now firmly diminished any rumours that he will be completing a deadline day deal and will instead likely be finishing his contract at QPR, which lasts until next summer.

Austin has come in for continued transfer speculation due to the amount of goals he scored for QPR last season, despite being part of a relegated side. In 35 Premier League appearances the 26-year-old netted a stunning 18 goals for the Hoops.

A move back to the top flight was expected by most due to this incredible record, however Austin’s tweet above suggests he will be at the Rs until at the very least, January.
