Mesut Ozil could be on his way out of Arsenal as soon as January with fresh reports linking the German international with a move to Bayern Munich.
The Bundesliga side are willing to pay about £30 million for Ozil’s services, according to the Daily Mail.
Mesut Ozil has been at the centre of any scrutiny aimed towards the Gunners’ midfield this season and up to three months out injured for the 25-year-old will not help in keeping Ozil at the club. Once he returns he will need to fight his way back into a very competitive midfield, which at the moment possesses players who can all, at the very least, give Ozil a run for his money.
Ozil has started six Premier League games but the match against Chelsea before the international break saw the Arsenal midfielder damage his left knee and he will now be out for between 10 to 12 weeks.
Although Ozil may be on his way out of London there are no indications that he would find a starting place easily at Bayern. Competition from the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mario Gotze and Xabi Alonso, to name a few would be tough to trump in terms of what they would add in midfield.
A possible move for Ozil could set things in motion for the much needed addition of a proven defensive midfielder at the North London side and the continuous speculation that Sami Khedira will be making his way to the Emirates could become a reality if Arsene Wenger does in fact approve the offloading of Ozil to the German giants.
