Reports have emerged on Monday morning linking Manchester United with young British prospect Regan Poole.
Sixteen-year-old Poole currently plays for Newport County and has impressed Manchester United’s scouts with some assured performances during a week-long trial with the Red Devils.
The Sun report that Louis van Gaal is looking to invest in youth, following a high-profile transfer window. Young defender Poole is attracting interest form a number of other clubs, with Fulham believed to be Manchester United’s biggest rivals for his signature.
Newport County boss Justin Edinburgh has expressed his hopes that the youngster will stay with the club amid interest from the Premier League heavyweights.
“There will be a lot of interest in a player of his quality. We have to manage him right. I hope to keep him for the near future.”
