GOALS: Liverpool Resurgence Dumps Bolton Out Of The FA Cup

The dream finish to Steven Gerrard’s career is still a reality following Liverpool’s 2-1 turnaround victory at Bolton.

Liverpool are through to the last sixteen of the FA Cup, but only after a major scare from Bolton Wanderers.

Bolton went ahead through an Eidur Gudjohnsen penalty on the 59th minute following a foul by Martin Skrtel.

However, Neil Danns was given his marching orders on the 65th minute following a second bookable offence, allowing Liverpool to up the pressure on the Championship side. The Merseysiders were on top for the majority of the game and continued to pelt the Wanderers goal, striking the woodwork on numerous occasions.

Their persistence paid off in the final five minutes when Raheem Sterling struck the net following a delicious lobbed assist from Emre Can.

This was a killer blow to Neil Lennon’s side and Philippe Coutinho smashed the back of the net from distance to send Brendan Rodgers’ side into the next round.
