Conor Coady gives one of the all-time great interviews during hilarious chat with Carragher

An absolutely hilarious interview from Conor Coady.

The most recent international window was definitely one that Conor Coady won’t forget in a hurry after the defender scored his first England goal in the win over Wales earlier this month. However, his most recent interview on Monday Night Football is definitely one that fans won’t forget too.

The Wolves captain had another reason to celebrate after his side picked up a 1-0 victory at Leeds on Monday night.

Raul Jimenez bagged the winner at Elland Road to clinch Wolves’ third win from their opening five Premier League matches but it was Coady’s post-match interview that will definitely give you a smile.

While speaking with Dave Jones, Jamie Carragher, and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink on Monday Night Football, Coady was informed that his teammate Max Kilman was given the man-of-the-match award and a puzzled Coady quickly replied: “Did he?”

This remark caused Jones and Carragher to erupt into a fit of laughter as the former Liverpool defender pointed out that Coady may have thought he deserved the prize.

While holding back the giggles, Coady then said: “He deserves it. He’s been brilliant… stop laughing and making a show of me! He’s been with us for years and has learnt the role inside out and he was brilliant again. He gave us some balance on that left-hand side.”

Coady then talked about Kilman’s fearless attitude in training, before making a cheeky joke.

Coady added: “He loves a battle with Adama [Traore] and most people don’t go near Adama in training… he full-on fights with him! He deserved man of the match by the way!”

However, Coady wasn’t done there because he had the perfect response to Carragher’s next question about a potential return to Liverpool –  a prank that was solely asked to test the lifelong Liverpool supporter.

“Obviously you won’t be aware as you’re playing tonight but Jurgen Klopp has had his Champions League press conference and he’s mentioned you and two other players who could be a replacement for Virgil van Dijk. Would that come into your thinking?” said Carragher.

Carragher was of course joking but Coady wasn’t to know and he laughed it off live on Sky Sports.

“I can’t believe you’ve just put this on me here. Not at all, I love playing for this football club. We’ve just beat Leeds in an amazing game – so no!”

Carragher added: “You must be honoured though with Klopp saying that?”

But Coady, who is an avid Liverpool supporter having come through the ranks at Melwood, wasn’t falling for it.

“You know what I’m like mate, I wouldn’t think of anything like that!”
