Twitter Fumes Over Paul Pogba’s Unorthodox Penalty Technique

Paul Pogba gave Manchester United the lead in their game against Everton on Sunday, after tapping home the rebound from his own missed penalty at Old Trafford.

Despite Pogba’s tremendous first-half performance in which he ran Marco Silva’s men ragged, all the talk from the first half in Manchester surrounded the World Cup winner’s unorthodox run-up before taking his penalty.

Pogba seemed to take an age as he slowly stepped up to the spot in what was certainly an attempt to get into Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford’s head.

The fans booed and Pickford eventually made an excellent save but Pogba was alert and managed to slot home his own rebound to give Manchester United a 1-0 lead at half-time.

The 25-year old’s strange run-up seemed to cause quite a stir on Twitter with many ridiculing Pogba’s technique which is now quickly becoming infamous.

A negative reaction certainly but the publicity that Pogba is receiving will surely be welcomed by the Frenchman and considering the quality of his performance at Old Trafford it’s unlikely that he will let the critics affect him.

Manchester United currently lead 2-0 against Everton at Old Trafford with the aforementioned Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial scoring the goals.
