Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp can be forgiven for a slip of the tongue given the circumstances.
The Reds came back from 3-0 down against Barcelona to win 4-0 at Anfield and reach their second Champions League final in as many years under Klopp.
Klopp’s men, knowing they needed at least three goals on the night, started in incredibly bright fashion as Divock Origi gave them the lead, tapping home after Jordan Henderson’s shot was saved by Andre Ter Stegen.
Second half substitute Gini Wijnaldum grabbed Liverpool’s second and third goals of the game as the remarkable comeback looked more and more likely.
After a conservative 20 minutes, Liverpool took the lead in incredible circumstances, as some quick thinking from Trent Alexander-Arnold found Origi in the box for his second and the Reds’ fourth as they went on to win the game in incredible fashion.
In his post-match interview, the German let his emotions get the better of him calling the players “intelligent fucking giants” admitting that he would take the fine for the language.

“It’s 10.10pm and the children are probably in bed so I’m sorry about the language but can I say these boys are fucking talented giants. It’s all about the players, if you have to fine me, fine me if you want. I’m not native so I don’t have better words for it.”
