At the beginning of July, Callum Robinson became the latest Irish international to arrive at Bramall Lane following his £6 million move from Preston.
Robinson’s impressive performances at Deepdale last season, before injury swiftly ended his campaign, saw him catch the eye of a number of Premier League clubs, with the Blades eventually winning the race for the 24-year old’s signature.
The Irish international’s pace and creativity could prove vital for Chris Wilder’s side this season as they look to avoid an immediate return to the Championship and if his first few of appearances are anything to go by, Robinson will fit in just fine in the top flight.
In Sheffield United’s last game against Chesterfield, Robinson found the net for the first time as a Blade as they ran out 5-0 winners and the former Deepdale favourite continued where he left off on Saturday against Barnsley at Oakwell.
After a lively first half, Robinson found the net in stylish fashion, turning on the edge of the Barnsley box before brilliantly whipping the ball into the bottom corner.
Robinson then grabbed his second goal of the game as fellow new signing Luke Freeman found the striker at the back post and he calmly poked the ball home.
The 24-year old’s performance against Barnsley as well as his displays throughout pre-season have clearly impressed Blades fans who took to Twitter following the victory to fawn over their new attacker.
Callum Robinson is something special. He’s going to be a BIG player for us next season.

Can see Callum Robinson being worth a lot more in a season or two. Think we've got a really good player on our hands.

Callum Robinson. Everything we’ve lacked in recent years. Pace, skill and an eye for goal. I’d reckon he gets 5-10 next year! #sufc

Pre-season, admittedly, isn’t always a true indicator of a player’s ability come the start of the league season, but Robinson’s form and attributes will fill Blades fans with confidence that he can replicate his goalscoring heroics in the Premier League.
Robinson is quick, direct and possesses an eye for goal and his pace could be a huge asset for a team who are unlikely to dominate too many games this season.
Impressing in the Premier League will also be a boost for Irish fans with Robinson improving every game for the Boys in Green as he looks to cement himself as a starter in Mick McCarthy’s side for the remainder of the Euro 2020 qualification campaign.
