Report: United Rivals Set For Bailly Battle Following Mourinho Fall-Out

Arsenal and Tottenham are reportedly on high alert following the news that Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is set to leave Old Trafford in January.

The Mirror are reporting that the two North London clubs are watching Bailly’s developments closely after the Senegalese defender was relegated to the bench in United’s last few games.

The report also claims that Bailly appears to have been “blamed by Mourinho for last month’s defeat at Brighton.”

A number of Manchester United’s starting eleven were disappointing during the 3-2 loss but Bailly seems to be taking the brunt of the blame for the defeat.

Bailly joined United in 2016 for £30 million and despite looking like one of Mourinho’s best defenders on occasion, could be on his way out of the club in January.

According to The Mirror, Tottenham boss, Mauricio Pochettino is a huge admirer of Bailly from his time in Spain and could be a strong addition to a Spurs side that looks as though it requires a couple of fresh faces during the January window.

Arsenal could also look at Bailly as a potential option to strengthen the heart of their defence as Unai Emery continues to put his stamp on this new look Gunners side.
