Inter Milan have reportedly made a move to sign Croatian midfielder Luka Modric from European champions Real Madrid.
Sky Sports are reporting that the Italian giants have made contact with Modric’s agents and that the World Cup Golden Ball winner would be open to a move away from the Bernabeu.
The 32-year-old played in 43 games for Real last season, which culminated in their third straight Champions League title.
Modric also captained his country to their first ever World Cup final and was undoubtedly the star of this Summer’s tournament in Russia.
Inter are reportedly seeking to sign midfielders as they compete in the Champions League for the first time in six years, and are lining up Bayern’s Arturo Vidal if they cannot prize Modric away from Madrid.
Modric’s countrymen Marcelo Brozovic, Ivan Perisic and Sime Vrsaljko, who joined from Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, are already at the San Siro.
