Irish U21 international and West Brom defender Dara O’Shea has been linked with a move to Premier League side Bournemouth after impressing on loan at League Two side Exeter City.
According to the DailyMail.co.uk, Cherries manager Eddie Howe and the club feel that they have unearthed another talented gem in the lower leagues, in a similar way to how they brought midfielder David Brooks to the club from Sheffield United.
O’Shea has been an excellent addition to Exeter City’s side this campaign as they sit seventh in League Two, and just inside the playoff spots.
The 20-year old took a few months to work his way into the starting XI but has built a solid partnership at the heart of the Grecians defence alongside Dean Moxey.
“It’s been good really,” says O’Shea, speaking exclusively to Pundit Arena last month.
“At the start it was a little slow because I arrived after the first game of the season.
“It was tough for me to get into the team because they’d been winning as well, I think it wasn’t until November time when they started losing a few games and the gaffer put me in, and since then I’ve been playing.”
The defender was also involved in Stephen Kenny’s first U21s squad, starting in the victory over Luxembourg as Ireland impressed with a 3-0 win.
The report also outlines that Crystal Palace are also looking at the 20-year old while Pundit Arena can confirm that recently relegated Huddersfield would also be keen on bringing O’Shea to the club.
