Irish On Fire For Sheffield United As McGoldrick & Stevens On Scoresheet

Sheffield United’s Irish contingent has come up trumps once again for them this afternoon as the Blades lead Hull City by 3-0.

Chris Wilder’s side need a win to put the pressure on Leeds United in third and Norwich in first as they edge ever closer to automatic promotion to the Premier League.

They have started off in excellent fashion against Hull City at the KCOM, blowing away the Tigers in a first half in which they have utterly dominated.

Irish striker David McGoldrick opened the scoring for United in the 10th minute of the game to ease any early nerves after he found himself free from a corner and headed home his 14th league goal of the season.

McGoldrick then grabbed his second in spectacular fashion, lashing a 25-yard strike past George Long in the Hull City net to give the Blades a two-goal lead.

Their third came shortly afterwards and again it was an Irish international, as Enda Stevens did brilliantly to meet George Baldock’s cross and score his third goal in four games for Sheffield United.

The Blades look as though they will pick up all three points against Hull and know that they will be promoted should they win their remaining two games in the league
