Ireland U21’s manager Stephen Kenny has named his starting XI for Friday night’s European qualifier against Armenia at Tallaght Stadium.

Kenny has gone for his trusted 4-2-3-1 formation with very few surprises in the back five as Celtic new boy Lee O’Connor starts at right-back with Bohemians’ Darragh Leahy on the left.

West Brom defender Dara O’Shea is joined by QPR’s Conor Masterson at the heart of the defence, while Champions League winner Caoimhin Kelleher is between the sticks.

As expected Tottenham striker Troy Parrott wins his first cap at U21 level as he starts in behind Norwich’s Adam Idah who grabbed a brace in their victory over Luxembourg in March.

Millwall’s on-loan Brighton midfielder Jayson Molumby captain’s the side once again and he is joined in the midfield by Conor Coventry.

Aaron Connolly’s good start to the season which saw him make his Premier League debut and grab his first senior goal for Brighton in the cup is rewarded while Gavin Kilkenny starts on the opposite flank.

Ireland will be looking to make it two wins from two in their group after they defeated Luxembourg by 3-0 earlier this year.
