West Ham midfielder Declan Rice has been named in his first England squad following his international switch from Ireland to the Three Lions.
Southgate has picked Rice after his international transfer to England was completed last week.
Rice had been one of Ireland’s most promising prospects, featuring three times for the Boys in Green during the Summer, but he was left out by Martin O’Neill in August with the current Nottingham Forest boss outlining that he was “still deliberating” over his international future.

After a long and drawn out tug-of-war between the two countries, the 20-year old eventually decided upon England, the country of his birth, to pursue his international career with England.
News of Rice’s inclusion comes less than a day after he was ironically named as the FAI’s Young Player of the Year by Irish Sportswriters.
Rice made three international appearances for Ireland in 2018 although they were all friendly games meaning that he was still eligible for England.
