Bohemians striker Dinny Corcoran has been named the SSE Airtricity League Player of the Month for February – on the same day he appeared on Channel 4 game show Countdown.
Corcoran has been in excellent form for the Dublin side this season, hitting three goals in as many games as Bohs sit second in the table with a game in hand over rivals Shamrock Rovers.
But the 30-year old grabbed headlines in another way on Monday, as he appeared on Countdown, much to the surprise of eagle-eyed League of Ireland fans.

The striker was unsuccessful in his pursuit of victory on the famed game show, in what is one of the most bizarre occurrences of the year.
Corcoran’s form on the pitch rather than in the studio will be the main concern of Bohemians fans this season as they look to prove that they are genuine contenders to Dundalk’s crown.
Speaking to the media following his Player of the Month accolade Corcoran outlined that despite individual awards being great, his main goal is on achieving success this season for his team.
“Personal achievements are always good, but more importantly we’ve had a great start to the season as a team and hopefully we can push on and get more points on the board now.
“I’m feeling good and I had the perfect start to the season personally with the three goals. We also kept three clean sheets in those games, which is nice.”
