Preston’s Alan Browne has been in tremendous form for his club as he continues to prove that he is one of the finest attacking midfielders in the Championship.
The 23-year old grabbed his 10th league goal of the campaign against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon as he looks to play his way into Mick McCarthy’s plans in March.
Browne has already surpassed his goals tally from last season and gave Alex Neill’s side the lead thanks to a tidy strike from the edge of the area against Stoke City.
The Cork native showed some neat footwork on the edge of the area before slotting the ball past the helpless Jack Butland in the Stoke goal.
Browne has scored six goals and got three assists in his last 10 games despite Preston’s inconsistency this season which has seen them drop down to 19th in the Championship table.
A win against Stoke would be a fantastic result for Alex Neill’s side who also start with fellow Irish international Seani Maguire in their side.
Should Browne continue his excellent form, then he may force new Irish boss Mick McCarthy’s hand as he prepares to select his first squad ahead of the start of the Euro 2020 qualifying campaign in March.
