Aston Villa have signed Brentford’s prolific striker Scott Hogan
Hogan had been tipped for a Premier League move during the transfer window following his impressive 14 goals in 25 league games for the Bees.
The Irish-qualified man has been left out of Brentford’s team for their last several games amid rumours of his imminent departure. Premier League interest seemed to have cooled leading up to the transfer deadline with West Ham unable to thrash out a deal for the 24-year-old.
However, Steve Bruce’s side are the beneficiaries of West Ham’s reluctance to follow through and have wrapped up a deal. The club are on a recruitment drive as they make a late push for the play offs and have already added Conor Hourihane, James Bree, Heni Lansbury and Bikir Bjarnason to their ranks.
Hogan is a major coup for Bruce, but with a heavy loss this evening against Brentford, it looks likes the striker will have to wait for at least another year to taste Premier League action.
