Kilkenny legend, DJ Carey delivered a hilarious insult to former England and Liverpool player, Jamie Redknapp as he put their hurling skills to the test.
As part of a challenge for Sky One’s ‘A League Of Their Own’, Redknapp, together with former cricketer, Freddie Flintoff and comedian, Rob Beckett travelled to Kilkenny during the summer to take a penalty in front of a crowd of 20,000 at half-time in the game between the Cats and Wexford.
The trio spent the morning being coached by the five-time All Ireland winner who was impressed with the skills of Flintoff.
“He’s big, strong, athletic and a good striker of the ball so I think Fred will really pick this up pretty easy.”
Given his history in cricket, Redknapp complained that the challenge was too easy for Flintoff, however, the attitude didn’t go down well with Carey.
“Jamie was a bit moany. I think as a coach you need to put a guy in his place.”
As the Sky Sports Football analyst got more and more frustrated, an amused Rob Beckett asked Carey if they could try something that Jamie was good at, leading to an epic diss from the Kilkenny man.
“Like what? Sun bathing is it?”
