Tottenham Hotspurs have tabled a €200,000 bid for Shamrock Rovers teenage goalkeeper, Gavin Bazunu, according to a report in the Irish Independent.
According to the paper, the deal would see the 16-year-old remain with Rovers until after his Leaving Cert as he is one of three players that the club is covering school fees for at Ashfield College in Dundrum.
Bazunu has already caught the eye of clubs such as Celtic and Liverpool but Spurs are the first club to launch a major bid for him after an offer from Norwich City was rejected.
The youngster has been in impressive form since breaking into Shamrocks Rovers first team in July. He has conceded just two goals in six appearances, both against AIK Fotboll in the Europa League.
It is understood that other Premier League champions, Manchester City have also expressed their interest in the youngster ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
