Pereira: Mourinho & Pogba Disagreed In Training Over Instagram Post

Manchester United midfielder, Andreas Pereira has confirmed that the training ground dispute between Paul Pogba and manager, Jose Mourinho was over an Instagram video.

Footage from Sky Sports emerged earlier this month of the pair exchanging words and frosty looks, just one day after the French international was stripped of the vice-captaincy.

Reports suggested that the manager was questioning Pogba about a post on social media published just after the shock EFL Cup penalty shoot-out defeat to Derby County.

Speaking to Brazilian outlet UOL Sport, Pereira confirmed that the Instagram video was the cause of the tension.

“We were winning the game 1-0 at the time of the video.”

“Then we lost the game, and people said that Pogba posted later. But he posted before.”

“The manager thought that Pogba had posted later. He asked him why that had happened. There was a mood about it. These things were out here in England. But I have nothing to do with it.”

While many players have a strained relationship with the manager, the Brazilian insists that he is “cool” with Mourinho and the players do not wish to see him sacked.

“The relationship is good, it’s cool. I have a very good relationship with him, with the players and he also has a good relationship with the players.”

“We don’t feel that pressure coming from outside. Everyone says that he’s being sacked. We do not feel that.”

“I don’t usually have any English media on my phone so I don’t get intoxicated with everything they say.”

“He’s our manager, we give our life on the pitch for him and for us too. Everyone is very calm, very focused and very happy.”

While their incredible 3-2 comeback win over Newcastle relieved the pressure on Mourinho slightly, all eyes will be on the former Chelsea boss as he returns to Stamford Bridge this weekend for a crucial Premier League clash.
