Celtic remain atop the Scottish Premier League – 11 points clear of their arch-rivals Rangers – but it is their goalkeeper, Craig Gordon, that they can thank for that fact.
In a below-par performance from Brendan Rodgers’ side, Gordon was called upon on a few occasions to keep Rangers at bay – with the game eventually finishing 0-0 at Celtic Park.
The Scotland international was on top form today, excellently denying James Tavernier’s powerful strike from a Daniel Candelas cross early in the second half.

And when called upon again in the 67th minute, Gordon came up with one of the stops of the season so far, somehow outstretching a leg to deny Alfredo Morelos – who was convinced he had given his side the lead.
While the Rangers man probably should have scored, there is still no taking away from a fantastic block by the Celtic stopper.
While Old Firm derbies usually treat us with passion, goals and pure excitement – today’s tale belonged to the goalkeepers.
Were it not for Gordon’s heroics, Rangers would most certainly be taking three points back to Ibrox.
