Paris Saint Germain are closing in on their second £100M+ deal of the summer – as they look to secure the signature of Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe.
The French club, who signed Neymar from Barcelona in a record-breaking deal just weeks ago, are now set to add the 18-year old France international to their ranks in their second sensational coup of the window.
Sky In Italy are reporting that the potential deal – which involves Lucas Moura leaving PSG for Monaco – will be worth near £128M. The Parisians will sign Mbappe on an initial season-long loan deal with an agreement in place to sign the striker next summer.
Monaco have already been raided for their star players after a successful 2016/17 – with Tiemoue Bakayoko joining Chelsea and Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva joining Manchester City. Fabinho could also be set to leave the club with Sky also reporting that he too is in talks with PSG over a potential transfer.
Many believed that Real Madrid was the most likely destination for Mbappe – with reports of a rejected £161M bid circulating earlier in the window – but it appears that PSG have now won the race for the highly-coveted teenager.
Mbappe scored 26 goals as Monaco won the title and reached the Champions League semi-final last season – scoring in all the knockout stages of Europe’s premier competition. He was left out of the Monaco squad at the weekend – and it seems we have seen the last of him at the Stade Louis.
Given the signings of Neymar and Mbappe’s potential arrival – one would imagine PSG must now open the exit doors – with Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler likely to depart.
Although the clubs are ‘far from an agreement’ yet – it seems that Kylian Mbappe’s departure is imminent – and Paris looks an ever more likely destination – as Unai Emery’s side look to launch an assault on the UEFA Champions League this season.
