Ryan Giggs Declares Interest In Two Premier League Managerial Posts

Ryan Giggs is looking to make a return to Premier League management sooner rather than later…

Two huge Premier League managerial posts have become vacant in the past week with Leicester City sacking Craig Shakespeare and Everton parting company with Ronald Koeman.

At the time of writing, Manuel Pellegrini and Chris Coleman are listed as the two favourites to take over at Leicester while Sean Dyche and David Moyes are in pole position to take over at Goodison Park.

However, speaking to Sky Sports, Ryan Giggs has stated that he would be extremely interested in taking either position.

“I think you look at those two teams, Leicester being champions two seasons ago, Everton being a fantastic club with a fantastic history. For me, these are clubs I would be interested in.

Giggs has previous management experience having been an assistant to both David Moyes and Louis van Gaal at Manchester United and having also taken charge at Old Trafford as a caretaker manager for a short period of time in 2014.

However, given his managerial CV, it seems Giggs is very aware that there will be stiff competition for the Leicester and Everton posts and he may have to take a position in a lower division before such opportunities may present themselves.

“There are a lot of coaches out there who would be interested in those positions.”

“I’ve said all along that I’d be open to clubs which share the ambitions of myself. I want to improve clubs and improve players, to enjoy working for them and for players to enjoy the challenge.”

“There are clubs in the Premier League which would be good jobs but also in the Championship and League One. It’s more about the philosophy for me than the stature of the club.”
