Cristiano Ronaldo, Man United legend, set to join Man City – reports.
Man City’s move for Ronaldo continues a remarkable transfer window in European football, coming just over a fortnight Paris Saint-Germain completed the singing of his long-time rival Lionel Messi.
The transfer won’t go down to well with Man United fans, who have continued to adore Ronaldo even though he left the club in 2009.
Ronaldo spent six years at Old Trafford, where he won three Premier League titles, the Champions League and the Ballon d’Or between 2003 and 2009, before leaving for Real Madrid as the world’s most expensive footballer.
Cristiano Ronaldo joins Jack Grealish at Man City.
While in the Spanish capital, he added another four Champions Leagues and four Ballon D’Or to his collection, as well as two La Liga titles.
In 2018, he made the move to Juventus, where he has picked up two Serie A titles and a Coppa Italia.
There had been doubts about City’s level of interest in Ronaldo but it seems they are now going take the opportunity that is being presented to them.
The club have already spent £100 million on Jack Grealish his summer and the presence of Ronaldo will add to Pep Guardiola’s already stellar attacking options.
