Ralf Rangnick discusses the possibility of Man United playing in the Conference League next season.
There were jokes made about Cristiano Ronaldo playing Europa League football at the start of the season, so to see that he could be playing for a Manchester United squad in the Conference League will be sure to add some perspective to United’s drop this season.
While his full-time role at United might be coming to an end, Ralf Rangnick says that his side will do all they can to ensure they avoid playing in the Conference League next season.
“I’m positive that the players want to get things right and prove to everybody that they are capable to play a lot better than we did at Brighton,” said Rangnick.
🗣️ “It’s never easy to play United.”

“I’m also positive that they’d rather play in the Europa League than in the Conference League. They will have to play Thursday evening rather than Tuesday or Wednesday but I think it’s still a big difference if a club like Manchester United plays in the Europa League rather than the Conference League.”
Europa League hopes
Rangnick tried to sell the Europa League dream as being a great opportunity but for a team like United, they should be looking to qualify from their Premier League position.
🗣️ “This should be incentive for everybody that we qualify for the Europa League on Sunday”

“You could see that the day before yesterday when Eintracht Frankfurt, who finished in the bottom half of the Bundesliga won the Europa League and by doing that, qualified for the Champions League for the first time, maybe in club history.
“This should also be an incentive for everybody to make sure that we qualify for the Europa League, at least on Sunday.”
