Pep Guardiola gives heartwarming praise to Lionel Messi.
Barcelona under Pep Guardiola was a well-oiled machine and one that thrived with top talents like Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi.
Having coached so many all-time greats during his time at Barcelona, Man City and Bayern Munich, Guardiola’s high praise for Messi means that much more.
“I have millions,” said Guardiola when asked about his favourite Messi moment. “He’s the best ever… simple as that”

A strong bond
Guardiola has never shied away from celebrating Messi’s greatness and, in an interview with Telemundo Deportes, he detailed just how big of a deal it was to have the Argentinian winger on his team.
“Messi means everything in my career. He made me more competitive. He knows there was an amazing group of players.
“There were many stars who generated a once-in-a-lifetime chemistry between all of them. We won a lot, but without him, we wouldn’t have won so much.”
🗣”We can never say that is unfair Leo Messi wins the Ballon d’OR.”

Guardiola is clearly still a fan of Messi and while that has led to speculation of the two having a reunion at Man City in the past, the likelihood is quite low as City continue to spend their wage budget on top talents like Erling Haaland.
Messi, however, seems to be on the decline in his PSG career so far.
At the end of the day, however, the respect is still clearly there between the two and Guardiola continues to highlight that at every opportunity.
