Mo Salah seeks ‘revenge’ on Real Madrid after 2018 Champions League final.
Revenge is on Mo Salah’s mind ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League final clash against Real Madrid.
In their Champions League clash in 2018, Salah picked up an injury in a collision with Sergio Ramos, ending his game after only 30 minutes in the Kyiv decider.
“I remember after thirty minutes I went out,” said Salah. “It was the worst moment of my career. I was really, really down at the time.”
While a Champions League final, win or loss, is usually a high point for most players, Salah’s focus on victory meant that it was one of the wort times in his career.
“Playing in the Champions League and having a good season at the time, coming off after 30 minutes was just like the worst thing that could happen to any football player.
“After the game, I knew the result because I was in the hospital. I heard from Hendo and was like, ‘We can’t lose this way.’
“I never had that feeling before in football, especially because it was the first Champions League for all of us or most of us.”
🗣 “I went out after 30 minutes or something. It was the worst moment of my career.”

The comeback.
Of course, that wasn’t the end of Liverpool’s success and they have continued their quest in becoming one of the top teams in modern football.
“We were very disappointed but after that summer we came back and talked to each other,” continued Salah. “I think Hendo was talking in the dressing room and said, we’ll go again for everything and we managed to win it the year after.
“That was also kind of revenge but I think we managed in the best way possible.”
