Jurgen Klopp addresses transfer concerns for players lacking gametime

Can we expect a few Liverpool players to leave this summer?

With such a strong first team, it can be tough for squad rotation players to grab the attention of Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool which could see a few looking for a transfer this summer.

The reality of keeping everyone happy whilst also trying to win trophies is a tough challenge for Klopp but he knows that people wanting more game time is to be expected amongst competitive professionals.

“I don’t want to see anyone leave but that’s life,” said Klopp discussing the upcoming transfer window.

“That’s the situation. Nobody came to me and told me, ‘I want to go.’ No agent called me and said ‘He’s not playing enough.’ We’ll see what happens.”

Jurgen Klopp discusses transfer concerns

As calm as Klopp might appear about players feeling the need to leave the club, he still credits Liverpool’s quality season to all the players, saying they all made it possible.

“What happened this year is only possible because of the group we have, it’s the only reason for it.

“We have top-class players, world-class players and we’ve had moments in the past when we’ve not but the kids were still playing their part which was nice.

“We were lucky in moments, we had to come back against Leicester or whoever in cup competitions.”

Klopp won’t stop players from leaving but made sure to remind everyone that the club would need to see some appropriate funds come in first.

“A lot’s happened in this past year. I have no idea who wants to go and I don’t see that really but if someone comes around the corner and says I have a club that I want to go to, that’s just a normal thing that always happens.

“The other club will have to make an offer because as long as the boys are here, we have to agree as well but it’s really not our concern at the moment.”
