Aaron Ramsey penalty miss sees Rangers lose Europa League final.
Rangers definitely had some upset players after their penalty shootout loss to Eintracht Frankfurt and with Aaron Ramsey’s missed penalty, focus was sure to shift to him.
“Everyone is hurt and disappointed and you can sense that in the locker room,” said Van Bronckhorst after the loss.
“I think it’s normal so soon after the game.
“Aaron, of course, was disappointed but he took responsibility to take the penalty.
“You can make it or you can miss it and unfortunately for us, he didn’t make it.”
🗣 “He took the responsibility to take the penalty.”

The loss
The loss was sure to be a tough one for a side that were hoping to make their mark in the Champions League next season and after a long playing career, Van Bronckhorst can empathise with his squad.
“We’re very disappointed because you play the final, you’re very close to winning silverware.
“In the end, when you don’t win, the emotions go from high to very low. I’ve had those moments in my career.”

It’s been a long campaign for Rangers who missed out on their other shot at playing in next season’s Champions League, after coming second to Celtic in the Scottish League.
“I said to the players that we came so far and deserved it so I’m very proud of them.
“We gave it everything today, we had our chances.
“We came so far because we played well, we had the belief to win the final but next year, it starts all over again.”
